The executive team members of the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Alcohol and Other Drug Virtual Clinical Trials (PTSD/AOD VCT) study hosted a kickoff party for this National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism-funded integrative data analysis project on November 9, 2018, in Washington, D.C., at the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS) convention. The study will synthesize disparate data from 50 existing PTSD and AOD treatment studies. Led by a team of experts in PTSD/AOD treatment and clinical trials from Rutgers Center of Alcohol Studies (Hien (MPI) & Ruglass), Research Triangle Institute (Morgan-Lopez (MPI) & Saavedra), Medical University of South Carolina (Back, Brady & Killeen) & Columbia University (Campbell), the VCT study will use novel data analytic approaches to provide clear and definitive recommendations regarding which, how and for whom PTSD/AOD treatments are optimally effective.
