The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Clinic at Rutgers University (DBT-RU) is a research and training clinic that provides comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) services to individuals in the community. We have been in operation since 2010.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for BPD. It was originally developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan in the 1980s and has since been evaluated in numerous research trials and disseminated around the world. Comprehensive DBT includes once-per-week individual therapy, once-per-week skills training groups, and as-needed telephone consultation.
We specialize in providing care to adults over the age of 18 who meet criteria for borderline personality disorder (BPD) or have significant BPD features. We also frequently offer groups for family members of individuals with BPD. Call us at (848) 445-3942 for more information.
In fall 2018, we will be expanding our services to include comprehensive outpatient treatment for individuals ages 13 years and older. If you are interested in learning more about our adolescent program, please call us at 848-445-3942.
