Jeffrey Segal, Psy.D. is a GSAPP alum (School ’87) and is an assistant teaching professor and practicum coordinator in the School Psychology Program at GSAPP. In this role, he teaches Introduction to School Psychology, Child Psychopathology, and Advanced Group Supervision and coordinates the practica and externship training opportunities for the school Psy.D. students. In addition, he supervises both school and clinical students at the GSAPP – Center for Psychological Services. Dr. Segal is a certified school psychologist and licensed psychologist. For many years, Dr. Segal provided integrated behavioral healthcare and developed and directed outpatient mental health programs at Morristown and Overlook Hospitals.
Since 2001, Dr. Segal has been a master trainer of the American Psychological Association’s ACT Raising Safe Kids Program, an evidence-based parenting program, which teaches positive parenting skills to parents and caregivers of children from birth to age 10.
Dr. Segal’s clinical interests include the intersection between education and psychology, working with children and families with chronic illnesses, school consultation and emotionally focused couples and family therapy. Dr. Segal consults with early childhood centers and schools and has provided numerous professional development workshops, trainings, and presentations on bullying, anxiety, and depression in children and adolescents, parenting skills, young children and violence, adolescent brain development, among other topics, to teachers, parents, and psychologists.
Dr. Segal maintains a private practice in Morristown, New Jersey where he works with children, adolescents and adults in individual, couples and family therapy.
