May 2019

On Wednesday, May 8th, students and faculty came together for the Center of Alcohol and Substance Use Studies’ Annual Scholar Poster Session. With 25 posters across four categories (Animal and Basic Experimental, Human Experimental, Clinical Quantitative and Qualitative Study, and Epidemiology and Public Health), a variety of departments, expertise, and student work was on display. Awards were presented across student levels, with Srishti Brahmachari and a group of students from Professor Lei Yu’s lab (Shivani Mehra, Usman Toor, Akhila Manthena, Minjie Bao) taking the undergraduate award. Sarah Grace Helton took the graduate student award from Professor Marsha Bates' lab, with the post-doctoral category going to Drs. Mateo Leganes-Fonteneau (Cardiac Neuroscience Lab) and Sayani Mukherjee from Dr. Dipak Sarkar’s lab. We wish congratulations to this year’s winners and a big thanks to all who participated for coming out and sharing the amazing research being done across campus.
