Dr. Linda Reddy and her colleagues’ research on violence against teachers has been getting media attention, which was discussed on several websites like Philly Inquirer, Web MD, US Weekly and will soon be discussed by NPR this weekend. This study examined teacher’s reactions after having experienced violence, especially the roles of attributional processes. In collaboration with the American Psychological Association, National Education Association, and American Federation of Teachers, data were collected via a survey instrument from teachers across the United States. The response was got from 2505 participants who described the most upsetting incident of violence that had been perpetrated against them in their roles as teachers.
