Publication on Risk Factors for Suicidal Ideation in Children with ASD

November 2021

Dr. Vanessa Bal, GSAPP Associate Professor and Karmazin and Lillard Endowed Chair in Adult Autism, and colleagues recently published a paper examining parent-reported suicidal ideation in more than 21,000 Korean school-aged children drawn from three epidemiologically-ascertained samples.  Findings highlight the importance of screening for suicidal ideation in school-aged children with autism diagnoses and children who may have higher degrees of social difficulties, especially when they have elevated levels of anxiety.  Congratulations to Dr. Bal and team!
