APAGS Student Diversity Initiative Award 

This grant provides funding for the development of initiatives to aid in the recruitment, retention, and leadership training of psychology doctoral students from diverse backgrounds.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (MHSAS) Doctoral Fellowship 

This is a federally funded program to support doctoral training in psychology that seeks to: 

  • Promote culturally competent behavioral health services and policy for ethnic minority populations. 
  • Increase the number of ethnic minority psychologists providing behavioral health services and developing policy for ethnic minority populations.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (MHSAS) Postdoctoral Fellowship

Services for Transition Age Youth (STAY) Fellowship 

MFP supports the following financial and training opportunities for terminal master’s students in order to further their development in areas related to mental health services for ethnic minority youth ages 16 through 25 and their families. 

This is a federally funded program to support terminal master’s level training in psychology that seeks to: 

  • Promote culturally competent mental health services for ethnic minority transition age youth and their families. 
  • Increase the number of ethnic minority service providers in psychology who are providing mental health services for this population.

Interdisciplinary Minority Fellowship Program (IMFP) Fellowship 

IMFP supports the training of ethnic minority graduate students who commit to significantly improving the quality of care provided to ethnic and racial minorities who have a mental or cooccurring mental and substance use disorder. The program seeks to accomplish the following objectives: 

  • Promote improved quality of care provided to ethnic and racial minorities who have a mental or cooccurring mental and substance use disorder. 
  • Increase the number of ethnic minority mental health professionals in psychology, nursing, social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, and substance use and addictions counseling providing behavioral health services for ethnic minority populations.

Roy Scrivner Memorial Research Grant 

Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and trans (LGBTQIA+) people face many challenges in forming, defining, and maintaining families. This program seeks to encourage the study of LGBTQIA+ family psychology and therapy through its support of promising young investigators whose graduate research is oriented toward issues in this general area.
