Culture Conference

Call for Abstracts!

Submit by March 28th 5pm ET

We invite applications from doctoral students and professionals in counseling,
psychology, social work, or other related fields. Abstracts for a 60-minute session must be no longer than 250 words and should appeal to a wide range of participants.


Submission Process

Round one: Submit an abstract by March 28 at 5:00 pm. Finalists in this round will be notified
in mid-April.
Round two: Finalists will be invited to submit a full proposal for their session. All finalists will
be notified of the status of their proposal by the end of May.

The 2025 Culture Conference is going to be held on October 24, 2025 on Zoom. Dr. Thema Bryant is this year's keynote speaker. She is a renowned psychologist, author, professor, sacred artist, and minister who is currently a tenured professor of psychology in the Graduate School of Education and Psychology at Pepperdine University. Her work involves creating healthy relationships, healing trauma, and overcoming stress and oppression.

Early Bird registration will open this summer. Please save the date for this not-to-be-missed online event, a collaboration between GSAPP's Offices of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) and Professional Development and Continuing Education (OPDCE), Rutgers Health, and RU-Schools of Social Work (SSW) and Graduate School of Education (GSE)!
