Let’s Get Started!

All individuals must complete a 20- to 30-minute phone screen with a coordinator to move forward with our process and be added to the waitlist:

  • Current Rutgers students must first complete the GSAPP Evaluations form with the Office of Disability Services.  Students will receive an email within 1-2 weeks of submitting the form to provide their availability to schedule a phone screen.
  • Community clients can schedule their phone screen by emailing testing@gsapp.rutgers.edu or calling 848-445-3892. Please provide your name, phone number, and availability over the next two weeks, and we will follow up as soon as we can.

    • Clients are welcome to contact their private insurance for reimbursement. However, since we operate as a training clinic, most insurance companies do not accept the request.
    • Payments: Out-of-pocket costs for assessment sessions are paid in full at the first appointment.
  • After contacting us to request an evaluation, the next steps would be:

    • To schedule a phone screen to learn more about the individual’s needs and to be added to the waitlist.
    • After the waitlist period, clients should look for an email about their availability to start sessions in the clinic with their clinicians.
    • After the assessment, there will be a break where the clinician writes up the testing report with their supervisor, which includes all of the testing data, a diagnosis if one was found, and recommendations for what might happen next.
    • Clients will receive a hard copy of the report during a final feedback session.
  • Clients can use our evaluations to receive academic accommodation at Rutgers, other colleges and universities, and most K-12 schools within the community.

Our assessments/evaluations can be used to apply for accommodations for professional and state exams (e.g., MCAT, bar examinations, SAT)
