Dr. Heidi Hutman

Dr. Heidi Hutman (she/hers) is the Director of Clinical Training and an Associate Teaching Professor in the Clinical Psychology PsyD program and a Behavioral Health Consultant at Yale University in the Department of Psychiatry within the School of Medicine. A licensed psychologist, she also maintains a small private practice where she enjoys working with individuals and couples around transitions, relationship difficulties, and family-of-origin and generational/ancestral trauma. She was previously faculty in the counseling psychology master's program at Temple University for nine years before joining Rutgers. She has been actively involved in the Society of Counseling Psychology of the American Psychological Association (APA) and APA more broadly. She was formerly the Chair of the Membership Board of APA and currently serves as Vice President of Education and Training of Division 17. She has published and presented extensively in the area of clinical supervision and training. She is also the co-chair of the International Interdisciplinary Conference on Clinical Supervision and on the editorial board of Training and Education in Professional Psychology and The Counseling Psychologist. Dr. Hutman is passionate about supporting the next generation of helping professionals. Her professional interests center around clinical training and supervision, and in particular, promoting culturally responsive supervision and training practices.
