Dr. Jonathan Pastor

Dr. Jonathan Pastor (Clinical PsyD, 2002) is the Associate Director of Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS) at Princeton University, where he has worked since 2010. He is a licensed clinical and sport psychologist who oversees mental health services at CPS, leads the Alcohol and Other Drug treatment team, delivers assessment, and individual and group therapy to students. 

Dr. Pastor received his B.A. from Brown University in 1996 and graduated from the GSAPP Clinical Psychology doctoral program in 2002. He completed his internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center, before joining the staff of the Washington Heights Community Service, an outpatient clinic in upper Manhattan, where he worked from 2002-2010. He was certified as a sport psychologist in 2013 by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology, and a focus of his clinical work at Princeton has been helping student-athletes. In addition, Dr. Pastor has specialized in supporting students who struggle academically for mental health reasons, including by meeting with many of those who take leaves of absence, as they depart and upon their return.

Dr. Pastor first served on the GSAPP Alumni Organization (AO) as a student representative in 1998 and 1999, and helped with planning the school's 25th Anniversary Gala. He joined the AO Board in 2012, and took on the role of acting Secretary in 2013 before being appointed Treasurer from 2014-2021. He has since remained an active AO member and has mentored GSAPP students. 

Additionally, Dr. Pastor has served as a volunteer leader of other organizations, including as Co-Chair of the Hispanic Organization of Professional Psychology Students (HOPPS) while he was a GSAPP student, and as President of the Latino Psychological Association of New Jersey (now LMHANJ) in 2005-2006. He served on the Steering Committee of the Latino Princetonians, the Employee Resource Group at Princeton for Latine employees from 2014-2020. In 2024, he was elected to the Executive Board of the Association for the Coordination of Counseling Center Clinical Services (ACCCCS).
