Bio

Dr. Connelly obtained a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the GSAPP at Rutgers University in 1995. Since that time, he has worked in various school settings, in particular, the Teen Center in Highland Park, NJ and The Haven in Piscataway, NJ. He has supervised many GSAPP students, with a focus on pragmatic, integrative psychological interventions for students, educators, and families.

In addition, Dr. Connelly has a strong emphasis on cultural competence/humility and the celebration and recognition of human and cultural diversity. This includes attention to anti-racist and social justice elements of children’s lives.

Mindfulness is another central component of his practice. Dr. Connelly has been meditating for many years and teaches mindfulness practices to his students. He also has a small private practice in Highland Park and works across the lifespan.

In addition, Dr. Connelly specializes in corny dad jokes, taking naps and calling it meditation, paying others to make up for his lack of handyman skills, and regular indulgence in sugary sweets.
