Dr. Ariella Soffer is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with nearly two decades of experience in psychotherapy, mental health program development, and leadership in higher education. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Hebrew Language from Brandeis University and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fordham University, where she later served as faculty. Dr. Soffer’s dissertation studied self-efficacy and coaching climate as part of a program evaluation of a youth running initiative through New York Road Runners Foundation. As the Founder and CEO of Soffer & Associates, Dr. Soffer has built a thriving group practice that employs evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ACT, DBT, ERP, mindfulness-based therapies, and psychodynamic approaches. The practice serves a clientele across the lifespan and offers specialized services in forensic evaluations, psychodiagnostic testing, and sport psychology. Additionally, Dr. Soffer acts as a psychological consultant for schools in the tri-state area, providing parenting support and school consultations as integral parts of her practice. The Data Consulting arm of her practice delivers tailored data visualization and reporting solutions for University Counseling Centers, empowering directors, and administrators to make informed decisions that address the mental health needs of their student populations effectively.

Dr. Soffer previously served as a Clinical Faculty Member in the APA-accredited Doctoral Clinical Psychology Program (Ph.D.) at Fordham University, where she established and directed the Training Clinic. In this role, she mentored doctoral students, managed clinic operations, and developed and taught courses in psychodynamic practice, perinatal mental health, and suicide prevention. Dr. Soffer also has experience working with NYNJADOT and other practicum consortia through her practice and university appointments. From 2008 to 2017, Dr. Soffer was a leader at the Hunter College Counseling & Wellness Services, where she oversaw the Psychology Training Programs, Intake and Triage services, and Research and Assessment. She was responsible for managing intake and disposition for a student body of 26,000, developing suicide prevention protocols, and collaborating with university staff and administrators. Her efforts established the center’s psychology training programs and enhanced its data assessment initiatives. Earlier in her career, Dr. Soffer worked as a Supervising Psychologist at the Karen Horney Clinic and as an Adjunct Teaching Associate at Fordham University.

With expertise spanning clinical practice, program development, data-driven solutions, education and entrepreneurship, Dr. Soffer is often recognized for her commitment to advancing mental health care, mentoring the next generation of clinicians, and supporting individuals and families.
