Dr. Daniel Hart
Bio
Dr. Hart is a distinguished developmental psychologist and Harvard University graduate with a remarkable career spanning several decades at Rutgers University. He is a recipient of the prestigious Daniel Gorenstein Award and is widely recognized for his impactful work with Camden's youth. His research has significantly advanced the field of developmental psychology and driven positive community change.
Since joining the Rutgers–Camden Department of Psychology in 1984, Dr. Hart has held influential faculty and leadership roles, shaping both the academic and research landscape of the institution. His administrative career began in 1996 as department chair, and he has since served in key positions, including Director of the Center for Children and Childhood Studies, Graduate Director in the Department of Psychology, Senior Vice Chancellor, and most recently, Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor.
Currently serving as Interim Dean of the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP), Dr. Hart brings a wealth of experience and vision to the role. Under his leadership, GSAPP will continue its mission of training future leaders in applied and professional psychology. Drawn to GSAPP for its prominence in both New Jersey and the world, Dr. Hart is committed to its vital role in preparing the behavioral healthcare workforce. GSAPP educates half of New Jersey's professional psychologists and trains top experts working with neurodiverse populations.
