About ARMHA-NJ

The Anti-Racist Mental Health Alliance-New Jersey (ARMHA-NJ) is a non-profit organization dedicated to examining and addressing racial inequities in the mental health field and society at large. We seek to create an anti-racist mental health system that facilitates the entry of Black, Latine, Asian, Middle Eastern, and Indigenous people into its ranks and would rely on a strength-based, healing-centered focus that recognizes resilience within the individual, families, and communities, and the liberating power of identifying and resisting oppression.

ARMHA-NJ includes mental health professionals, consumers of mental health services, and anyone who is committed to addressing racism in mental health training, research and scholarship, clinical practice, and services in our communities. We intend to address issues that impact racially marginalized groups by challenging policies and practices through education, advocacy and collaboration with other like-minded individuals, organizations, and policy makers.
