Anne Marie Foley
Anne Marie earned her B.S in Psychological Sciences and B.A. in Spanish from Purdue University Honors College. While studying at Purdue, she collaborated with a cohort of Colombian graduate exchange students to improve her Spanish and provide feedback on the exchange students’ research presentations. She loved the program and wanted to continue working with and learning from the immigrant population. Anne Marie decided to research immigrant integration and the needs of the immigrant population in the greater Lafayette, IN area for her capstone thesis. Anne Marie continued working with immigrants after graduation as an immigration paralegal and, most recently, as a bilingual client advocate at a domestic violence safe house. She is interested in studying substance use disorders and trauma responses generally, as well as how they manifest in the immigrant community and among victim/survivors of domestic violence. In her personal life, Anne Marie loves to bake, spend time with her dog, and travel. She hopes to explore every national park in the US.
