Katty Rivera
BIO
Katty Rivera is a seasoned mental health professional with over 15 years of experience in program administration, workforce development, and managing large-scale, federally funded behavioral health initiatives. She supports New Jersey schools by coaching administrators in implementing evidence-based practices to improve school climate and student well-being. Previously, Katty provided training and technical assistance to diverse professionals and communities in Federal Region 2, leading regional professional development initiatives, coordinating community-based outreach events, and developing training materials and curricula for behavioral health providers. Her work emphasizes culturally responsive approaches to mental health, including bilingual training on trauma-informed systems of care, provider wellness, and culturally sensitive service delivery within Hispanic and Latinx communities. She has contributed to national workgroups focused on developing and disseminating evidence-based practices for behavioral health and educators across the United States, including Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
Katty’s research interests include occupational stress, organizational wellness, and the prevention of burnout and compassion fatigue among human service professionals. Now pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Psychology, Katty integrates her expertise in systems-level change, culturally adapted interventions, and workforce resilience to promote sustainable improvements in organizational health and service equity.
