Dr. Brenna Bry

Headshot of Brenna Bry
Professor
Clinical Emeritus Faculty Professor
Univ. of Missouri-Columbia

Findings from Dr. Bry's ongoing studies of risk and protective factors have supported the development, evaluation, and dissemination of her manualized preventive intervention-- the school-based Achievement Mentoring Program. Because the program has been designated by the U.S. Department of Education's Safe and Drug-Free Schools Program and the U.S. Center for Substance Abuse Prevention as an effective strategy, Dr. Bry consults with schools and agencies who are adopting her program. The empirical bases and implementation for her intervention are covered in her book with Dr. Nancy Boyd-Franklin, Reaching Out in Family Therapy: Home-based, School, and Community Interventions.
