GSAPP is proud to celebrate the expansion of the Psychological Services Clinic (PSC), a unit of the RCAAS led by Dr. Josh Cohen, into its new home at 61 Nichol Ave. in New Brunswick.
The new space represents more than a move. It marks a significant expansion of therapeutic services for neurodivergent individuals, while also creating enhanced opportunities for the next generation of clinicians.
“It’s two-fold learning in action,” said Dr. Cohen. “We serve an underserved population through evaluations and clinical services while simultaneously providing high-quality training and supervision to practicum students and others, preparing them to become competent future practitioners.”
For Billy Schiele, the clinic’s inaugural coordinator and a GSAPP School Psychology doctoral student, the move is all about growth.
“Expansion is the theme,” Schiele said. “We’ve moved into a beautiful new location, doubled the size of our student clinician team, and strengthened our ability to provide high-quality services to more adults in need. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continuously apply what I’ve learned in the classroom to create positive and affirming outcomes for developmentally challenged clients.”
Together, the PSC team is building on Rutgers University’s reputation as a trusted resource for underserved communities while creating meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for student clinicians.
