GSAPP’s most prestigious award, the Peterson Prize honors an alumna/us for outstanding contributions to professional psychology. Dr. Diaz-Martinez was recognized for her extensive service to GSAPP, local and national leadership, and breadth of professional roles—including her work with the APA and the Division of Continuing Studies at Rutgers - New Brunswick, among her numerous other noteworthy achievements. Her work also reflects a strong commitment to uplifting marginalized and underrepresented voices.
Nominated by fellow esteemed alumni, Dr. Peter DeNigris and Dr. Milton Fuentes, Dr. Diaz-Martinez has served as a GSAPP faculty member and in multiple leadership roles in the Department of Clinical Psychology for much of the past decade, leaving an indelible, meaningful impact on our students, staff, faculty, and field.
