From publications to presentations and more, the Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness (CYSEW) continues to make an indelible impact through student leadership, faculty scholarship, and community engagement.
Cameron McCauley, a GSAPP Clinical Psychology PsyD student, is part of the team behind the first-ever NLPA Student Committee Newsletter, an initiative dedicated to creating space for student-led connections and insights within the field of Latinx psychology.
Dr. Germán Cadenas recently authored an article in the Rutgers Health newsletter highlighting the powerful work of his Lab for Immigrant Rights & Mental Health, now in its third year at Rutgers. The Lab continues to advance equity through student mentorship, community partnerships, and research rooted in dignity and human rights.
Dr. Cadenas also brought these important issues to national audiences through keynote presentations at the NLPA Summit and the AUCCCD Conference, where he emphasized the intersections of mental health, advocacy, and inclusion.
Continuing his outreach, Dr. Cadenas will serve as a featured panelist at GSAPP’s virtual Culture Conference and in the upcoming Webinar on Mental Health and Immigrant Uncertainty, hosted by The Presidents’ Alliance, TheDream.US, Immigrants Rising, Informed Immigrant, NLPA, and the Immigrant Mental Health Lab at Rutgers. The webinar will introduce a new guide designed to help higher education communities protect mental health, strengthen inclusive programs and policies, and apply evidence-based strategies that support all individuals—regardless of immigration status.
