The Rutgers University Libraries support and enrich the instructional, research, and public service missions of the University through the stewardship of scholarly information and the delivery of information services.
Our Vision
The Libraries aspire to provide outstanding information resources and services that advance research and learning, support the University's goal to be among the top public AAU institutions in the country, and serve as an essential information resource for the state and beyond.

Activities / Initiatives
The Andrew Carnegie Fellows Program provides support for a high-caliber scholarship that applies fresh perspectives from the humanities and social sciences to some of the most pressing issues of our times. The following are eligible for consideration for a fellowship: senior and junior scholars, journalists, and public intellectuals. The program awards annually up to thirty fellowships of $200,000 each.
The International Balzan Prize Foundation awards four prizes annually, two in literature, moral sciences, and the arts and two in the physical, mathematical, and natural sciences, and medicine each worth 750,000 Swiss francs. This prestigious prize “aims to promote, throughout the world, culture, science and the most meritorious initiatives in the cause of humanity, peace, and fraternity among peoples, regardless of nationality, race, or creed.”
The university is invited annually to submit nominations for consideration for the King Faisal Prize in Science and in Medicine. The Prizes recognize published work “likely to benefit mankind and enrich human knowledge.” Nominations are judged exclusively on the basis of scholarly merit. Winners receive a sum of $200,000, a commemorative medallion, and a certificate.
The Wolf Prize is awarded annually to outstanding artists and scientists for their achievements for the benefit of mankind and brotherly relations among peoples, regardless of nationality, race, color, religion, sex, or political views
Rutgers Research Council Awards
The Research Council Awards program offers five annual award opportunities to support faculty research and especially to encourage scholarship tackling challenging disciplinary problems in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and creative arts. The council has proudly been providing internal awards to the Rutgers faculty for the past 79 consecutive years.

Daniel Gorenstein Memorial Award Ceremony and Lecture
The Daniel Gorenstein Memorial Award, named to honor the memory of the noted mathematician and Rutgers University Professor Daniel Gorenstein, will be awarded to a Rutgers full-time faculty member who best exemplifies Professor Gorenstein's imaginative research and his dedicated and exceptional service to the University. The recipient of the award will receive an honorarium and commemorative certificate, and present a lecture during the award ceremony in the fall semester.
