Suicide Prevention, Practice, and Policy Certificate

Suicide Prevention, Practice, and Policy Certificate

Rutgers GSAPP and the School of Public Health are offering the nation’s first online certificate dedicated solely to suicide prevention, equipping professionals with the skills to develop, implement, and evaluate prevention strategies across clinical, organizational, and policy settings.

The Suicide Prevention, Practice, and Policy Certificate is a 12-credit, fully online program designed for professionals in healthcare, public health, criminal justice, organizational leadership, and media. It provides a multidisciplinary approach that integrates clinical perspectives with public health and policy strategies to address rising suicide rates in the U.S. Students gain practical skills in suicide risk assessment, evidence-based interventions, and understanding societal determinants of suicide.

The flexible format allows completion in two to three semesters, preparing graduates to drive meaningful change in suicide prevention at community, organizational, and national levels.
